What did you do to your F4i today?
Replaced the walmart battery that the previous owner had in there which was a nEverstart es4l-bs which apparently is like 50cca... i thought that was stock but I then ordered a Scorpion AGM which turned out to be a much bigger battery and was 190 CCA for only $63 shipped. Bike runs nicely and I dont feel afraid of getting stranded after the bike warms up..
I bought a new FPR after some moths of bad behavior
After replacing with new spark plugs i got a new bike, i have never thougt the bike had so much power.
So i guess the issue has been there all the time..

My clutch cable broke on my ride today. I pulled off the side faring and pulled the clutch cable. Then fixed a screw driver to the clutch lever (at the clutch casing) and drove it "stick shift" home. A bit rough, but it worked.
I should have kept an eye on the cable...but, didn't. 06 model with 71,000 miles, lesson learned.
Cable on order!

After weeks of trying to find out what the problem was with my f4i not starting after a ride/commute, I ended replacing several parts between May and July
-Regulator/Rectifier with cheap $25 Caltric from Amazon
-Battery 190cc Scorpion
-Stator - Rick's Motorsport
and still had issues so I did some digging up and and found that despite a new stator, I was only getting 12 volts at idle and 13v at 5,000rpm
I decided to order a new Rick's Motorsport R/R and voila! solved my problem so I'm getting 13.5-14.5 volts now
Just ordered a digital weather proof voltmeter that I plan on mounting on top of my gauge cluster to monitor my battery. Should be here today

Checked the valves - all in spec.
New plugs
New rear brake pads
She (2006F4i) just hit the 80,000 mile mark (bought her with 4,659 miles in Feb of 2012).
Next month I'm doing a Canada to Mexico trip on her - can't wait!

For my 4th track day, took out the CBR to to Albuquerque's track. It ran great, and I was able to smoke the beginner group! Ok, maybe not smoke them, but besides the guy on the R6 who crashed out I was the fastest beginner.
Gotta say, track days are the funnest thing you can do on your bike.

Last weekend I changed the oil on both of our F4i's. On the wifes after, it wouldn't start. No prime of the fuel pump. Did a little bit of troubleshooting to determine that the relay controlling the pump was cycling on and off, and that 12v was present at the 2 pin connector to the fuel pump for the 3 or so seconds after turning on the ignition, or when flipping the Engine Stop switch from Run to Stop and back. I checked the continuity through the fuel pump and it was open. Nice thing about having 2 bikes of each model, you can compare one to another. On mine, the pump reads about 1.4 ohms. Clearly a bad motor.
Got the pump from Partzilla and installed it today. Bike fired right up. (and had the familiar sound of priming as well).
Looks like we're ready for the trip.
