Default valve adjustment.....new 2006 F4i

i have a new 2006 F4i with now about 850 miles on it. if/when is the first valve adjustment due?

shim under bucket valve trains hold thier tolerances well. every 16,000 miles. better make an appointment soon. you only have 15150 miles to go[8D]

muhahahahha....i got my first at 21K...no problems...second at 40K...no problem...still within tolerance!

i was thinking i was told there was an initial one at like 1000-2000 miles? is that way wrong?

i think what he meant was at the 600 mi break in service the dealer is supposed to do it..

the 600 mile service is nothing but an oil change, chain adjust and lube (if needed)and checking the other fluid levels and maybe your tire pressures. takes em all of 30 minutes maxbtw, probably 95% of the techs don't worry with torque wrenches (except on internal engine work) they just go by feel (whatever that means)

i did the 600 mile servce myself because the dealer said it was $150 bucks and he had a 3 week waiting time. to i bought honda oil and filter and saved my reciepts. so 15 more k before the valve adjustment lol, i guess i can wait.
