Well I had my first street crash last weekend. And as I sit out each day I am checking things to start putting her back together,
My turn signals were not coming on at all so I went to the crash scene and found what I think is the turn signal relay. I plugged it in, does not seem right, and the turn signals now turn on but do not flash? Am I missing parts? I have #14

Am I correct in assuming I need #15 to make the signals flash? Please help.

 

You could have a ground wire that is shorting out somewhere. Photos of you bike will help diagnose the problem better. Do you have a digital camera? Take photos then post them on the forum. If you don't know how to post pics, go to "how to " section on how to make a signature, same concept for posting photos.

 

If they light up, the wiring is likely good. Bad ground will usually cause no light, and the signals to flash faster. The flasher unit is located behind the instrument cluster. #14 is the correct part, not 15. If you have LED lights and need to replace the relay, they do make one that works better with LEDs and will make them blink at the normal rate.

 

thanks for the help so far. I do have LED's. They worked and flashed fine before my crash. All my headlight assembly is destroyed, Wiring is still there with bulbs and light up fine.

Where #14 plugs in it does not seem right, #14 has 2 prongs and the plug it goes in has 3? I went ahead and ordered #15 from Bike Bandit. Only 9 bucks shipped. If that dont work I will have to cough up the 40 for #14. Hopefully it will work correctly with #15 attached.
