Transmission Question
just to adress your clarification, its normal...personally when coming up to a light i start braking then shift down to neutral while im braking and leave it in neutral...I dont like sitting at lights and having to hold the clutch anyways
Is it me or CaliCBR said that when he holds the clutch in and shifts down his bike shake. That does not sound normal to me. The "clunky" *** noise is tipical but the violent movement isnt. I hope your matching the engine speed with the tranny when letting of the clutch. Otherwise you will have an abrupt jerks.
Of topic, whats coasting? is that when you let go of the throttle and let the engine break for you?

i dont remember if anyone covered what im about to say. but just in case; dont use 1st gear as a means of slowing you down. there is a huge ratio difference from 2nd to 1st. the clank you hear is the tranny catching up with the rmp change. my advice, let your revs slow you in second, then move into first.
