Without bias, which one

RE: Without bias, which one
I picked the F4i over all 3 other jap makes. I sat on each of them at a dealer in Indy that sold them all. And I chose the Honda due to comfort alone. Since I don't ride on a track this was my choice. And I went into it with no preconceived ideas about any of them. And for relibility you can't beat it.

RE: Without bias, which one
I actually went to the dealership to buy a 600R. It seemed very comfortable, and a the one I had a chance to ride handled very well.
The dealer didn't have any 600R's in stock. He did have 1 F4i. It was almost as comfortable as the 600R, but I think it had a better engine. Also it was fuel injected versus carbeurated like the 600R. Honda reliability was also very important. In the end, my dealer made me one heck of an offer on the F4i, so I bought it on the spot. I don't regret the choice.
I don't think the 600R is a bad bike. It and the F4i fill very similiar roles. There are "sporty" but are designed more for the street than the track. They are built for more comfort than to win a race.

I have equal seat time on both and they both have their pluses and minuses.
For one, the R6 is gauges are easier to read and cooler in my opinion.
The F4i is a lot more comfy
The R6 has holes for spools, The F4i does not.
The R6 is easy to convert to reverse shift pattern, the F4i is not.
But even with those minor things I still think me choosing the F4i was a better choice.

R6's frames and subframes are garbage. I always read about people having cracks start on the welds. I like how the 2004 models look but the new ones are really ugly especially the tail IMHO It all comes down to which one your most comfy on both are around the same speed and handling its not like your comparing it to the rr

You picked the wrong place for an unbais opinion!!! Let see what I can do.
Ok, rode both bikes before i got the f4i. First, you will notice the difference. Handling is slightly different but the seating position is a drastic change. I am more comfortable on a cbr. However, the R6 can jump like crazy. Fast! I'll be the only honest person here and say that I did get a cbr but not because its the fastest bike on the market. Its not. R6 will win by a few feet if you go head to head. 01cbrF4i's friend is not pushing his bike hard enough. Or just not experienced enough.
The Yahama controls feel a bit ridge and seems to corner really great without much body movement. But you will be in major discomfort if you ride that thing for few hours and have back strain.
Both bike have gear issue. 99-02 r6 have problems with 2nd gear slippage if you ride for a while. Cbr 01-04 you need to hit the gear lever really hard from 1st to 2nd or u go in to nuetral, also if you you ride for a while.
I dont like the rear brakes on the cbr, it locks up a lot. But a lot of people dont use it anyway. Not sure if you will.
