Have you taken a voltmeter to the different wires to figure out what is and isn't getting power?

ya. i can get the left turn signal to flash but not the right. also can't get the brake light and running lights to work properly. either the running lights are always on or the brake lights are always on. I've tried every which way and can't seem to get it working right...

you will need the wiring diagram in the back of the service manual...you can DL the manual as well.

The blue and orange plugs are the blinkers. orange is the right blinker I think.

For future help, the orange and blue plugs on the stock harness are the turn signals, and the white plug is the license plate light, the two clear three wire plugs are for the always on tail light and the brake light. The black/brown on those two clear plugs are power to tail light, the green/yellow are brake light, the solid green is ground. As a rule of thumb, green is ground. On your new tail light, the two yellow and blue wires are for the turn signals. The other three will be ground, brake and power. Just hook them up and trial and error. I believe the black is oddly enough actually power, yellow is ground and red is brake but I could certainly be wrong on that.
