Default Stuck key....?

I had to order a new ignition and gas cap so i got one off ebay and tested the key in the ignition to make sure it turned then tried it in the gas cap since the keyhole seemed to be a little worn around the outside....the key went in and turned now it wont turn back and cant be pulled out. suggestions please?

you have to push on the rubber ring under the gas cap (to simulate it being closed) or the key will not come out

As with most things, lube will help The girlfriend's gas cap was like that when she got it. I put some (chain lube I think) on the metal ring underneath and the 2 latches that lock it to the tank. So now everything slides in and out smoothly
