Default Strange sound or normal?

I don't remember hearing this sound from the engine when I first bought it last August. It sounds like constant ticking that gets faster as I accelerate. When I'm in neutral or have the clutch lever pulled in, I don't hear it... only when I'm moving. It sounds almost like valves clicking.
I had them checked and they're within tolerance. My CCT was change to Ape manual...
Is this normal?

Thanks

your clutch basket has too much play in it between the prongs and the plates. youll need a new basket and possbly plates to fix it.

Thanks. Dumb question, but what are consequences of not replacing it for a while?
How major of job is it to do?

not terrible, once u take clutch plates out its one more nut to get the basket off. but youll need an impact more than likely, ill take pics of my dirtbike to show u consequences. it will just get a lil worse and eventually the clutch will slip in high reve bc it will get caught in grooves and wont separate completely-but if your not seeing any of that right now you wont see it for a loooong time.

basically, the basket will just get more torn up-but youre gonna have to replace it and the plates anyway so not too big a deal. change your oil tho, if theres a lot of metal in it (from the basket) you might want to look into getting it done sooner. i have a stuntin buddy who has ridden his like yours for about a year now and he isnt changing it out soon, but he wants to-hes just lazy

Before you tear into your clutch...how many miles are on the bike? It might not be your clutch basket....maybe your CCT needs to be adjusted? Just throwing out ideas.

I only say the basket bc of his pulling in the lever symptom. About how it stops when he does it. It's more off am annoying prob than it will hurt anything

Yeah, the sound only happens when in gear and moving. I'm not sure if related, but the bike feels like it's running a bit rough too. I just changed the oil too, using Motul 5100 semi.

sounds to me like it could be two things either the CCT isnt properly adjusted and is rattling BUT only under a load... hence why you would only hear it when ur in gear and riding....

or what vang said...

also if it is the clutch then its not related to the bike running poorly but if its the CCT that could lead to your bike not running right...

just food for thought
