hello everyone,
I was replacing the stator cover on my 02 f4i and as I was pulling off the original cover the dowel pin holding the reduction gear came off with the cover and i'm not sure if the gear may have skipped a tooth? I aligned the gear with the dowel pin and installed the new cover, the bike started fine, I took it for a ride everything felt good. Does this reduction gear affect the timing at all?

 

timing stuff is by the CCT... right side of the bike.
Yea that pin keeps coming off... as long as the gear wheel didnt fall and get dirty it should be fine.

 

Yea that gear is no biggie, it's just the starter drive gear. Stick it back on and you'll be good to go
