quick question about stator cover
my stator cover on my 061krr has scratches on it.. im replacing it.... is there oil in that compartment (or any fluids), will i have to wait untill i drain the oil on the next change to change the cover.... or can i change it without messing with any fluids..
Im new at bikes and just wondering is there suppose to be oil in that cover??
Im looking to buy a wrecked 99 F4 and when you start it it slings oil out of where the stator is. any help please and thanks

yes
there is oil in that cover
you can take it off without draining the oil by leaning the bike over to the right against something.
then there is only like a spoonful of oil to clean up from the inside.

^^ but you might as well change the oil while you are doing it anyway. Who knows if dirt/water/etc. got into the oil from the crack in the cover.
