Default Quick stator cover questiion.

If I'm putting a new gasket on the stator cover, does it need a form of rtv sealent under it?

whenever I've replaced a stator cover, I've just used the gasket itself. Permatex does make a gasket sealant, that you can apply to hold the gasket in place while its assembled. It also acts as a filler to the gasket and helps seal it. I would probably use that versus the rtv sealant. Its a lot thinner than rtv sealant and is actually made for that application. rtv is more of a stand alone sealer. I have never had one leak from using just the gasket though.

Use white lithium grease.
I've heard of oiling certain gaskets before use, but I've never heard of white lithium grease before. Is that so the gasket doesnt stick if you have to remove the cover again?
