Snapped fairing bracket tab on oil sump
Hi guys I've been searching for a thread about this with no luck!
One of the tabs on the sump that holds a small L shaped bracket which in turn holds the fairing is broken(snapped off due to the previous owner dropping the bike) and I'm wondering if anyone has had the same issue or knows what's the best solution? Other than buying a new oil pan.

Have it welded. It doesn't hold a lot of pressure, a simple tack weld will keep it in place. A lot of times here if you ride it it them andf slip them a couple bucks they knock it out right away.
The heat generated shouldn't be enough to hurt the oil either since it is such a small spot.
I don't know how hard it is to find a person that welds in England but here it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

was thinking perhaps a small thin steel tab held on with the sump bolt just in front and bolting the l shaped bracket to that?
I think making your own and bolting it to the sump bolt in your photo will work just fine.
Once the bracket is mounted and you have a fairing you can put the fairing on THEN drill the hole in the bracket.
