turn it on.. let it sit idling for 15 minutes. oh.. it'll get there. I replaced my thermostat w/ a manual on/off switch. I guess I prefer to control it.

You've never lived in a hot area. I can easily get my bike to sit around 200-210 while riding at 80mph on the freeway. 115* air temp means the air above the blacktop is like 150* On the same note its never been over 228* even sitting in same conditions idling for 10+ minutes because of stupid traffic.

Mine runs at 178-181 at 70mph every time any temp. Gets to about 200-210 in moving traffic and 223 the fan kicks on usually only at stop lights. When I bought it it had been sitting so after riding once I noticed the temp and thought it was high compared to my older cooler running R6 so I changed out the coolant and it's exactly the same as it was so I'm not concerned anymore. Seems everyone is within the same ranges on here

Where did you put the switch for the fan? I think that would be an option for me if I need to.

I live in Louisiana its regularly 100+ but my bike will run between 170-190 while riding 60mph on the hwy or backroads. If I get caught in traffic and my speed drops under 40 I see 200-210.

Get into traffic after riding for 30 minutes to an hour and it should start to rise.

Default Temp

Start the bike and let it idle while monitoring the temp. If in 15 minutes you don't see at least 210 or so, hold the throttle open slightly Up to 3000 rpm or so (but normally it will build heat on its own). If in another five minutes you haven't reached your 225 -230 I would guess that the thermostat is stuck open or has been removed. If the bike makes it to 230 and the fan doesn't kick on its time to start checking things.

I went for some town riding today and at the stoplights it got up to about 205 or so but never higher than that. I dont think it sat long enough but I will try that out tomorrow and see what it does. I live in dorms so people complain about the loudness if I do it in the parking lot haha
