My bike was stolen last year and I finally got around to working on it I bought a new battery and who ever stole it left the busted ignition in the on position and it started perfect the other day. I purchased a ebay replacement ignition and tried it tonight and for some reason the fuel pump did not prime and it would crank over but because of lack of fuel it would not start. When I plugged the old ignition back in it wouldnt prime or start and had the same symptoms, upon further reading I see that I need some sort of diode on the new ignition setup, my question is did I break something how come the old ignition is not starting the bike anymore all the fuses are fine under the seat. I do not know where to begin looking for the issue, is there some sort of security feature that would lock me out no matter what now and could there be a way to reset it?
