Default Fuel pump problems as well.

I put on a new ignition, tried to start the bike and the fuel pump wouldnt prime. Im not sure if theres a problem with one of the relays or how something got messed up by unplugging my old ignition and putting a new one in but the bike wont start now.

ok so I put the old ignition back in and the bike started up. Put the new tumbler in the old ignition and the fuel pump wouldnt prime again. I tried changing the diode in the new ignition and still nothing. Tried to jump the fuel pump to no avail. I used a volt meter and the pink ignition wire isnt getting power, the long side of the diode isnt getting power but the short side is, and of course the fuel pump isnt getting power. Is this anti-theft/immobilizer related? because i can hear the ignition relay but then thats it

Ok, call me dumb, but use the old ignition? You apparently have a key for it, so use it! You can just keep your old key on the ring, and then use that if your tank and seat are different.

As far as the ignition being different, are you sure it's the right ignition?

the key for the old ignition is a screwdriver....not exactly the most convenient thing to ride around with and it looks a little suspicious starting a vehicle with a screwdriver sooo i had to replace it asap. and yup its an 01 f4i ignition
