Hi all, first post here! Newbie mechanic and new rider too! Just removing the wheels to change the tires out when i noticed the brake pads seemed to be worn at a strange angle... also the rear rotor looks to be a bit off? I used a caliper to see the diff and it looks warped? Any idea what could cause this?? Any helps appreciated!
Just to update... I've been informed it could be due to bad calipers? I'm thinking of just replacing rotors/pads/calipers... but before I go and do this job, I was hoping someone could shed some light into this and possibly let me know if there's anything I can do to rule out anything else as the cause?
Your pads show wear of a guide pin not sliding freely through the pad.
Thanks for the reply! I did notice this weird bracket thing fall out as I moved the caliper away from the rotor. It looks like a black square thing.. possibly a rentention clip... could this be what you're talking about? I will take more pics when I get home and look up how to set this guide pin... By the way... in case the part I mentioned is NOT the guide pin... do you know where abouts I would find this? again I'm a huge noob and am still trying to figure this all out! Thanks again demon.
The pads should sit in a groove on the bracket with a metal piece of hardware. The pin is that rod that goes through the holes on the pad. Make sure that the pad slides easily on the pin and bracket. A little brake lube to help them slide is a good idea.

Thank you. I'll give this a shot and reply back to this thread.
