The stockers end up pretty much at the top of the fork and there's nowhere you can really adjust them. You can get risers or helibars or convertibars (adjustable). I think you can probably get an inch up and an inch back with stock lines and with new brake lines or an extension, like 3 up and 1 back. You can get more of course with more modification but the large fairing/screen is also an issue.
I was considering the convertibars at first for long trips, since I was coming from a naked/sport touring bike with a pretty upright position... but in the end I just had to get used to the new position (probably took longer to get used to than someone who starts on a sportbike). The trick is to change positions every once in a while and be super light on the hands. Move around every once in a while. When I get tired of really tucking in, I'll get right up on the tank for a while and that position ends up being pretty upright.
I remember with my old bike I had to tug on the handlebars hard to get the bike to lean, on this bike I barely touch them...so sporting or touring it's all about body position.

When I first got my bike I had aches and pains all over but mainly my upper neck. Being 45 its just like that Over the ensuing months I have found that most of my pain while riding has subsided drastically. I went through a full tank with no issues at all then turned around and came home, all in all over 4 hours virtually pain free and I didnt have the Rocket Pillow on the tank. Basically Im saying that over time the bike becomes more comfortable naturally
