Default Question about mileage

i know these bikes can take a beating and can last up to 200,000 miles, my question is that as the bike mileage goes over 100,000 miles, the reading gives 00,000. Any ways to know the true mileage of the bike if buying it used?

Yes, I've heard of 100,000+ mile bikes. If you're concerned about folks selling one
with 112,000 miles as a 12,000 miler. I'm thinking, if I DO get that kind of milage out
of the baby...I'm gonna wanna brag to ANYONE who lays eyes on her. Anything else
defeats the purpose of getting there! Besides, it'd be like selling your kids, you've got
too much invested,in cash and heart, to ever make a profit. lol

If you look at the po's title and it has anything over that 12xxx miles i would be a little careful.

I don't think there are a whole lot of people w/ over 100k on these bikes, sure they can do it, just not many who have. I was amazed when I read one of thirdgenlxi's post about his bike not needing any valve adjustments until 100k miles, but he took very good care of his bike.

Although it's possible to get one that's rolled over, it's highly unlikely. most sport bikes get wrecked well before they hit that mark. Also, depending on your location the bike wouldn't be viable transportation for a certain part of the year.

I can't remember off the top of my head for bikes, but I know here in NC for a car inspection they enter your mileage.

10k miles a year is doable, but most riders don't get close to that especially over the long haul

I did multiple online checks on the bike before I purchased it everything was perfect, sounded too good to be true, but after hearing what you just said about most sportbikes reaching that mileage it makes perfect sense thanks!
