I took off my gas tank and removed the large banjo bolt from under the tank and it came along with 2 small washers that were on either side of the bolt. They aren't looking as good as they used to so I phoned up a local parts store and ordered some more. But the service rep said there are actually 4 of them. 3 of them are 12mm and one is another size that I can't remember. What is he talking about?

I'm also looking at the service manual and it only shows two of them. I clarified with him that this is a 2003 CBR F4i and he made sure he had the right washers.

I circled the two washers that go on either side of the fuel line and banjo bolt. Are there supposed to be more washers or should I phone the store back and tell him he's got the wrong parts and that there are only two of them?

There should only be two washers on the end that connect to the fuel pump. The guy you talked to was confused. I'm not sure what size the washers are though.

 

I even called back and confirmed the location of the banjo bolt and the year/model and he said there are 2 washers that go on either side of the fuel line and 2 more washers on either side of the bolt. I don't know how we're getting 4 here but I guess I'll find out when the parts arrive on Tuesday. The washers I have now will still work but they can only be sanded down so many times before they need to be changed. Now would be a good time to change them since most of upper end of the bike is in pieces.
