problem with new exhaust
i bought a scorpion high mount for my 06. they said it was for 05 and prior, no big deal, i can weld in an o2.
well come to find out, i got an 01-02 high mount.
1st- do you have to delete stock turns for the high mount?
2nd- it doesnt look like a standard high mount, looks like a normal exhaust (sits just a tad higher than stock). def doesnt sit along the tail line
whats the differences between 01-02 and 03-05?
thanks for any response, quicker the better since my bike is torn apart in my dining room

RE: problem with new exhaust
As far as i'm aware because of the way the piping runs any high mount exhaust requires you to replace ( or relocate ) your stock signals. May be a good time for a new tail?
It also doesn't sound like a high mount either it should run just under theside of the tail section( you need to take the rear pegs off also).

RE: problem with new exhaust
alright i got it on (im sure it would have been easier if it wasnt an 01 exhaust)
i just took off the stock turn, its hanging there for now.
yeah, i removed the rear peg, but it has spacers to run it. the bolts dont seem long enough to go through the spacers, then through the muffler mount bracket and then again through the frame...
ill figure something out to get the peg back on

RE: problem with new exhaust
Yeah that sounds about right. i had the same problem with my jardine first time round. with the subframe and mountings being different between the 01/02 and 06 model years, when i was sent the 01/02 high mount for mine none of the bolts were right and the spacers where the pegs should go didnt line up to the frame holes and as you say the bolts were all too short.
I guess to save yourself the stress, can you send/take it back and get the right year pipes. The can's probably right it's most likely just the wrong mid pipe. I tried to make mine work thinking i was doing it wrong but when the correct stuff arrived it all just flew together

Just so you know, Dynojet makes an O2 sensor eliminator. Then you don't have to weld a bung to the new pipe. That's what I did when I put my slip on and then full system on.
Just an example. Don't know about this dealer or anything-just the first one that came up when I Googled.
