Default Exhaust Problem

Hey Guys,
I just got rid of my F4i, and I got a 2007 600RR. I had a Scorpion pipe on the F4i, and I loved it. It's now time to get a new pipe for the RR (because it's bone stock) and I have a question. We all love the way a good Two Bros. exhaust sounds, but they stick out about 4 inches from the end of the tail. If I cut down the exhaust pipe to make the slip on fit more flush in the undertail well, do I risk damaging anything? Will it run any richer or anything? Kind of a stupid question I know, but I'm just making sure! Thanks guys!

Don't cut it to short or you will risk melting your taillight and fairing. I know what you mean though. I have a leo vince full exhaust and it does stick out quite a bit. Johnny

I have an '03 RR with 2 Bro's and i think it looks and sounds SICK just the way it is. That being said, I'm not sure, but judging just by their Mag ad's, it looks like the newer model cans are a lot shorter?

Haha, Thanks Johnny, good advice. Shadow, I'm not sure of the length or anything, I'm ordering online. I'm thinking I should go to a shop around here and look for some pipes haha.

I have an older 2bros on my 04RR and it too sticks out way too far. I wanted to buy a whole new exhaust, but I just bought an 01 f4i for the other half and it has turned into a money pit of sorts so my exhaust is on hold. I was reading the how-to on cutting down the pipe I have an inch or two just so it looks a little better. At least til I can save the cash for a new one. Glad to know it won't mess up the bike. I was gonna ask this same question soon.....
