Default Power commander and slip ons

I just put on a yoshi slip-on on my bike, how much difference will a power-commander make? The guys at the Honda dealership told me almost none....

Power commanders with slip-ons are usually not necessary but certainly can make a difference. It depends on the fine tuning you may need or eventually how much power you want. It still won't be a night/day difference but will/can be better depending on the setup. I have an M4 slip-on on mine w/o a power commander but a friend of mine put a pc on before he even had a new exhaust. Some of it is preference.

This is the same question i have been asking. One dealer told me I absolutley had to put a pc on, or my bike would run like crap. I drove an hour to a different dealer, and he said it wouldn't make much of a difference. I guess it is personel prefference. Still looking for the definite answer. I guess I will just buy the pipe and see how it runs.

it really depends on the bike....with a pipe, most bikes will run fine w/o a pc but just not optimum, some bikes will run rougher than others..the same goes if you get a pc and run the map for your setup off dynojet (the company who makes the pc) website, every bike will run different, thats why if you get a pc your suggested to get a custom map made for your specific bike...one thing that is for sure tho is the bike will definitly have a smoother power delivery with the pc.
....the but dyno isnt really going to notice any increase in power even tho personally my top end feels a bit stronger, might just be a mental thing.....its a lot of fun to play with tho and i think if you ask most people who have pcs, they would buy it again.... i say when you get your pipe, slap it on and ride it a little, if you think it could run better, why not give the pc a shot
.....Candredf4i---no, its not absolutly necessary

i have an extra pc laying around, let me know if your interested

it's not so much the power comander but the map you put in it that makes the difference.
