Power commander or slip on exhaust?

Power commander or slip on exhaust?
I've been working on my 05 1000 and put in new spark plugs, oil change and a K and N air filter. I am eventually going to change the sprockets and get a speedo healer, but first I was wondering which would give me the most bang for my buck. either a new slip on so that the K and N can breath better, or a power commander so I can try and get more low end power. The only thing about a slip on is I hate how loud it gets. I have big ears and I catch all of the sound in my helmet, it becomes so annoying that i had to wear ear plugs. I like the sound level of the stock, I just wish it were lighter, and let more exhaust out. So guys, tell me what you think, can, or pcIII?

RE: Power commander or slip on exhaust?
An exhaust will probably net about 3-5 hp without a tune. A powercommander with a dyno tune will net about the same, but with better drivability. A power commander by itself with just a generic map will not net much, you need to spend the extra 150 -200 bucks and get a proper dynotune for it. And, know who to take it to.
Since you have a K&N breather, you might have to get a power commander with a slip on. I'm not sure. I know a stock aircleaner is ok with a slip on, but a high flow one Im not sure.
Since you said best bang for the buck,I would do the sprockets first with the speedo healer. You'd be amazed how much better the bike performs with it in its power range. I'd drop one front andup two in the rear and speedo heeler. You wont be sorry.
Nice bike by the way.
