Default Power Commander problem

hi - need some help...carried out a major service the weekend, sparks, valves etc and everything went smoothly, bike started up and let it running for 30mins or so and when I went to put the seat back on it cut out. I did a few checks and to cut the story short I noticed there were no lights on the PC. The strange this is if I disconnect the PC it starts up fine, but doesn't start with the PC connected. Anyone come across this before, this is doing my nut in

I would double check all the connections. Is it possible you disturbed the ground wire of the PCIII to the battery when you went to replace the seat? I have experienced before where it wouldn't start with the main PCIII wire bundle attached but would start when the PCIII was removed. In the end it turned out that I didn't have the PCIII ground wire connected to the battery. After checking my connections bike fired right up.

Ground seems to be connected fine, I've opened the shrink wrap to see if any of the other wires got caught and they fine.

Does the fuel pump prime with the PCIII installed?

Also not to insult your intelligence but just a question I would ask myself. Are you sure you connected the wire harness to the correct stock harness. It is possible to connect it to the wrong one. If it is connected to the wrong one then the fuel pump will not prime. Here is the installation guide from DynoJet http://www.powercommander.com/downlo...eng108-411.pdf

It's a male female connector only one way they go on! Ignition comes on, starter ticks over but no spark

There is more than 1 stock connector that the PCIII will connect to on the left hand side under the tank. If you connect to the wrong one it will look and feel like its connected correctly but won't allow the bike to start.

Beyond that Im fresh out of ideas.

thanks, but I'm putting them back into the same connectors as before when the PC III was working.
