Default Power Commander?

Howdy boys, Just a quick Q!

I ride an 01 F4I, it has a Two Bros Slip On, K&N air filter, and Ive dropped one sprocket in the front. I generally just ride around town, take theodd road trip, occasionally I like to hit up the twisties and drag a little knee, and of course a bit of amatuer stunting. My question is do y'all recommend a power commander? With the kind of riding I do (no track racing), and minor mods that Ihave, will I really benifit/notice installing one? If so, do I need to get it dynoed and mapped or can I justuse one of the pre programmed maps?

How is you throttle for smoothness?
My bike would get vibrations after about 7K until I got my PCIII working then it smoothed right out. Much nicer. It's much more enjoyable to ride in the 7K+ range now
That was with a downloaded map so I don't know how much difference getting it tuned would make

powercommander.com had maps for most of the popular combos. Some will maintain that getting your bike specifically tuned is the way to go for best results. I d/l the basic map for my setup (stock pipe, K & N filter) & I'm happy with it.

I definitely recommend getting the PCIII usb...made all the difference in the world with throttle smoothness & response.

Be sure to find out if you need the O2 sensor to go with it (CA models need it)>

It smoothed my throttle a little but it's expensive. Pick up a used USB model if you can otherwise just ride the bike as is.
I didn't notice any power increase and I have all the other mods too.

I'd say that if you don't have any complaints about the way the throttle behaves, don't worry about it. It really doesn't net you much power and isn't worth the cost unless you need it in order to fix the way the bike behaves.

How much of the "trunk" space does it take up? Sorry but i LOVE the big @$$ compartment! And it would really suck if it took up all the space.
