Default Polished lip

I have rim stripes that im going to install in the next week, but not sure im gonna like it. The polished lip has been growing on me alot lately. I was wondering what is the best way to do this? and can it be done with the tire still on the bike. If anyone has good pictures of this could you please post them so i can get a better look at what it looks like. thanks guys

I just used a strong metal stripper, the thicker it is the easier it is to work with...you just mask off the area, brush it on and the black will bubble off. some people sand it off but its much more of a PITA if you ask me.the tire can stay on but it is easier if you take it off, just wipe off any excess stripper off the tires asap.. here a link from another forum but it has good pics http://cbrworld.net/forums/thread/146000.aspx

All I gotta say is that I put my rim stripes on in less than 20 minutes and was done with it. Less work, more play... that is what I say! But it is your choice ultimately and polished rims look good too. So sorry that my reply probably isn't helping much!

Brancart, too funny. I'm in the same boat as you. I bought rim stripes, put them on and was happy with them. Then I decided are seeing a couple of polished lips that I like that better. So I stripped my front so far (didn't get to the rear as I ran into issues as you can see from another post) and the front looks awesome. In my opinion WAY better than the stripes I had on. Good luck, the extra work will be worth it.
