Default got you covered

I am glad i can finally help someone out. i had the same problem with mine. After changeing the battery and taking it to the shop 2 times they finally told me that the Regulator Rectifier is getting hot and shutting off. I replaced mine with a Ricks Rectifier and no problems however the bad rectifier made my battery go bad so i got a new one free (warrenty) Hope this helps let me know.

Here's a link to doing the diagnostics on the r/r and charging system.

Charging System Diagnostics - Rectifier/Regulator Upgrade - Triumph Forum: Triumph Rat Motorcycle Forums

Good chance this is the issue, however check all of the connectors in the harness,
as well. Look for any sign of heat damage. Usually, the issues that come and go are
electrical/heat-related. If you find any signs of heat-damage on a connector,
closely inspect/test whatever component that connector goes to.

Hope that helps, Ern

Sounds exactly like the issue I posted about that Ern had suggested about checking the connections for clean connections, etc.
