Default Noob Gear ?s

I just picked up an '01 4Fi from a buddy yesterday. Got a sweet deal on this awesome ride. I'm new to the sport scene though I've riden bikes in the past. We were chatting about accesories and what not and he mentioned a few things that I thought I would look into. 1st was a clip of some sort that would hold the clutch line out of the way of viewing the speedo. 2nd was some kind of magnetic cover that you could put over the gas tank that had a grip-type material on it for non slippage of your thighs.

Anyone heard of these two items or know where I could find them?

not sure where to get the clutch line clip you mentioned, most just get used to it
its really not that big of a deal plus if you try to force it to bend in a way it doesn't want to, you risk it binding which is BAD

the grip your are talking about is called stomp grip (click) good stuff

Here's a link discussing moving the clutch cable out of the way of the odometer. I think that is what you meant.

clutch cable blocking my odometer

I took a thin round rod almost like hanger but a little stroger cut about 4 inches of it off striaght, bent one end around the clutch cable but not tight just made a loop for it to slide in and then i took my bolt off the top of my left fork near the clutch and bent the other end of the rod around it and put it back on the bike tightend it down and bent the rod so the clutch cable would below my speedo but could slide in and out of the loop and it works great and there is no wear on my calble and it cost me nothing.

I ended up just using a black zip tie to suck down the clutch cable just a little bit. Works like a charm. I didn't really feel like messing around with the bolt that holds the handlebar to the frame by attaching a piece of coathanger or whatever.
