no exhaust bad?
i was wondering if running a bike with no exhaust is bad for the engine? a lady sideswiped me and ripped my exhaust off, and i've ridden a little afterwards without an exhaust, but i was wondering if no exhaust is bad for the engine. no big deal now, since i wont be riding it until spring, and i'll have a new one, i was just curious. thanks
well...some say the lack of backpressure will cause you to have burnt valves...etc...
i'm just not sure how much is too little back pressure...you'll have like none without headers and pipe...but then most pipes are straight through anyway...so i'm not sure if just the headers is enough...
it's just too loud mang...

yeah only thing i have is header pipe lol. i was just curious, because i said screw it and rode with friends and stuff, and was wondering how much or if any damage was done. or if you'd have to ride it for a prolonged period to actually do damage. well now i can't hurt it because i have a flat tire from running over a screw lol. so that solves that. if anyone's selling an exhaust for cheap, let me know lol. preferably two brothers, but heyyy if it's superrrr chear i'll buy it just to put it on my bike for now lol. but yeah, i went riding with a few friends, they were like what the hell exhaust you got on that thing, it's so loud i can hear you in the front.. and im like... uhm... there is no exhaust haha.
the damage is compared to this, you have a broke ball joint you say **** it I will give it another 5k miles, the next thing you knows your ball joint brakes and your skidding down the road! meaning no one can say how long it will take to damage it butwe can all say it will unless you remap it!
