okay, so i just picked up my new stunt bike from an insurance auction. f4i of course. i have already replaced all of the missing parts due to a theft recovery. but i noticed that a ground wire connected to the stator cover is snipped. does anyone know where this ground leads to? im replacing the entire wire harness and cant find what it might be used for. anyone know?

ok cool. a dude i know has an 01 and his f4i doesnt have the same ground i do. he only has the wires for the stator

Ill look at mine tomorrow if you didnt figure it out yet. and let you know. If its just chassis ground you can just ground it where you want.

 

That wire is not supposed to be there. It was probably some kind of add on electronic device and was just cut for removal. Have you got it to start yet?

 

ya, thee bike starts up and runs fine. but the dude totally chopped the harness up since he was using it as a track day bike. i already ordered a new harness so i can hookk up some kind of light, but i just wanted to make sure if that wire mwas suppose to be there or not. ive had a ton of people tell me its an add on to the bike, so im not worrying about it much now. thanks
