Default Need quick answer to FI Map dilemna

'05 F4i, stock air filter, PCIII, 15/47 regear.

Had a Jardine RT-1 Race slipon and had it custom mapped. I just swapped the Jardine pipe out for a Yoshi TRS Race Carbon-Fiber slipon.

Nothing else has changed, other than going from one slipon to the other.

Do I need a new custom map, or will both pipes flow close enough together than the FI map will be close enough to not make much difference?

I hate to spend another $200 for a custom map if the pipes are 98% the same.

Anyone help me out?

does it run OK? If it runs OK, you are fine. If you notice it running odd, then you need another map.

Runs like a scalded ape so far. Sounds amazing. The exhaust smells like it might be a tiny bit rich, and when I goose it, there is a puff of smoke, but I guess that is normal. When the RPM's are up it is not like there is smoke pouring out, just when you initially hit the gas, small puff. No Visible carbon buildup on the end of the pipe after running for about 20 minutes and a few laps around the block. Pulled hard from down low right up to redline.

I wouldn't worry about it if it is running that well.

Just keep an eye on it.

What sort of things should I be on the lookout for?

I may just take it in to get it remapped anyway, perhaps later this month.

watch out for popping...if you get lots of popping you running lean.
unlike bodybuilding and fashion industry...lean is not mean in the biking world!

No popping or backfiring at all. The occasional soft "bubbling" when holding partial throttle and letting the compression of the motor slow me down... But that is normal... You just hear it better with the louder pipe. Not loud, not very pronounced, you can just sort of hear it from time to time.

I think it is pretty close. I think that I will Dyno it and remap it later this month, just to be sure that all is optimal.

little bubbling is cool...
as far as dyno for the slip on, i would say forget about it...use the 2 bills and get something else! crg levers, etc...buhahahahh...
why? because it's so going to change and stuff as your air filter dirties, engine wears, etc...so unless you gots a f/s...just run with it if it's not popping like mine...buahhahah...
