Default need help troubleshooting

me and my moto have had an emotional past couple months. I worked and worked and worked and she is finally done and i just got it painted. here is my latest problem: i got my gas tank off to get painted and when i put it back on, it doesn't start anymore. i have an '02 f4i btw. the power works, but the fuel pump isn't kicking on. am i supposed to prime it somehow when putting it back on? i let the bike sit in the on position for about 5 min, hoping that would do the trick. Should i let it set longer or is there something i forgot? i did plug everything back correctly also. anybody have anything?

Your sure the wires under the tank are plugged back in, not just the fuel hoses? Check the kill switch and check the fuel pump fuse. If that all checks out, hotwire the pump and see if it pumps.

there is a plug by the left air duct cover that goes to the headlights and such. if it isn't connected, the pump won't prime, hence the no start...

The bike won't start without the headlights connected.

yep. it's a safety feature. the bike won't allow itself to run if the front fairing isn't connected. try taking out the headlight fuse and starting it. that might work..

Ya the front being off is the problem. If you jumper 2 of the wires in the plug that goes to the headlights it will allow it to run without them. I dont remember which one but you can search or check out a stunt site as stunters do it all the time.

that's exactly how mine is set up right now. If you jumper the red/white and the green wire it bypasses the bank angle sensor which is all it will need to run. I would do it from the main grey plug. So disconnect the grey plug (the one with all the lights attached to it) and jump the two outside ones, it'll end up being the red/white and green.
