I was wondering if any experts can tell me how long it takes to take out the current engine and replace it with another one of the same model. And also the difficulty level of the job? Are there instructions in doing so out there?

Basically, I need to swap an '02 F4i engine into the '01 F4i bike on Monday the 19th. If anyone is familiar with it in Queens, NY and can do it for me, I'll pay you for the labor. I'll offer pick up and drop off service if you're in one of the 5 boros. Message me for more information.

 

Actually swapping of the motor is not a huge process IF you have the correct tools. Also really helps to have at least 1 helper (2 is even better -- somebody to go get beer[sm=alcoholic.gif]). If you have the space you can speed up the process by removing fairings, fluids, front wheel (I'd personally remove the forks also but it isn't required), and anything else that's in the way. A shop manual is also a very helpful tool -- I highly recommend getting one.
