think it had anything to do with the work the shop did? If so, you could sue 'em for all they have nd join an MV Agusta F4 group...[:-]

Well, glad to hear your not too banged up.
How did you end up locking the front tire? You really had to have grabbed a HANDFUL of front brake to be able to lock it up. I would have someone from a different bike shop look at the front brakes 'cause that shouldn't happen, even with cold tires.

Could it have been that you were used to having to brake harder than before since your old brakes were worn? I could see that happening....those new brakes probably grabbed a lot harder than the old ones.

That thing is done. Glad you're ok though. What kind of tires were up front and how many miles on them?

I think you're probably right. I was actually riding around trying to get use to them when this happened. They had no feel to them anymore, they were grabbing quite hard, maybe they put softer pads in.

it locked up straight away
That happened to me on gravel, was the road clean or 'greasy' it is scary to think it was just from grabbing too much brake. 4 years and this is your first crash, I gotta believe there was traction issues and not just driver error. Good luck with the insurance claim, heal up quick.

Pirelli dragon gts with about 5000miles on them. I had been riding for about 15 minutes so they should have been warm.

The road was clean and dry. It was quite a steep hill I was going down, maybe that loaded up the front tire. The police report says poor brake setup, not rider error.
