I believe an r-title means it's a reconstructed vehicle, but I could be wrong.

I paid $4,800 for my '04 with 1,600 miles on it. No scratches, never been down, clean title, and in showroom condition.

is it what you wanted, were you ready to spend that dough, are you happy with what you have? if yes, then you paid exactly the right price.
stop fretting over it, ride it and be ready to spend a ton more money.

fwiw, my first F4i I bought in '06: '01 with 13Kmiles, corbin seat, 520conv, PCIII, blah, blah, blah, $4,500.00
my second F4i, I bought in '07: '01 with 1,046 miles on it...bone stock I think it still had the factory oil in it. $5k plus a 12hr roundtrip drive to get it.

some say I paid too much for my second one, but it was EXACTLY what I was looking for, '01, red/white, low miles, unmolested. so it was worth every penny to me.

[sm=exactly.gif]Wow.
I couldn't have said it better. That is exactly how I feel about my bike. Maybe I paid a little more than some other dude, but I love my bike and it hadn't even been broken in. Like krash said, probably still had the factory oil in it. Haha, all I've got to say is ditto...

On a depreciating assett you never worry about the price after you bought it. Fix it back up and ride the bitch until the wheels fall off, miles ridden are the only way to even up the score on something you may have overpaid for. Enjoy what you bought.

edit:

Look at it this way, even if you overspent by $2000, are you smarter than the guy that got a great deal on 2005F4i then sold it in six months for a great deal2006 600RR then sold it in a year on an awesome deal 2007 1000RR? Even if he got good deals buying them all, he still pissed away Huge money on the first year depreciation on each and remember you almost never sell a bike for what it is really worth.
