I bet you it was a motor officer who was on car duty that day. After a heavy weekend of riding, I find myself almost waving at bikes when I am driving my car. You forget!

The cops here in Sandy, UT are a bit stuck up. I've just started to wave to them though. You know, if I put out the olive branch then maybe they'll take it up and hopefully not beat me too hard with it.

Like Rennen says, maybe if I wave to them they'll get to know me as a nice guy. Then when they catch me doing 60 down my street they'll take it easy on me.......

You got to build relationships of trust with the cops. Don't wave at them when you blow by doing 90. That would indicate "game on" of a cat and mouse.

I see the upside down peace sign a lot out here in Los Angeles. Or just the hand off the grip.

Not too many cruisers waving to sport bikes out here.

I think it's all pretty fun!

What do you guys do to people in cars that give you a head nod. I get that a lot. I figured its probably people that have bikes also or wish they had one

usually when i get a nod from a car i either nod back... if im turning... or a full out hand up in the air wave... any car that recognizes you there and recognizes you as a rider and nods or waves deserves it..... one less accident wating to happen

Tonight I got a one finger pointed at the ground wave from a harley. I'm a bit rusty on my body language but I think that meant "I'm way too cool for you. You young punk on a foreign piece of crap sport bike." Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what it meant.

On a side note: I was older than he was.
