Default Maintenance question

I know, I can read the manual, but the manual says to break the bike in easy which is not really accurate in this day and age, so...

Air filter replacement. Have no desire for K&N as it takes longer and lets more dirt into the motor. The question is, how often should one replace the stock filter in order to maintain optimum performance?

Cost is not a factor, I just want to make sure that the bike is always running properly. 5k miles? 10k?

I believe the manual calls for replacement at the 12k service. That's when I replaced mine, and it wasn't very dirty. I really doubt you are going to see an increase in performance if you do it before that... just less money in your wallet.

Default RE: Maintenance question

Well, I tend to do things more often than needed. I use Castrol R4 Superbike synthetic and change it and the oil filter every 1500 miles or so. I know it is not needed, but it can't hurt either.

So rather than wait for the bike to start running funny, I figure I will just swap out the filter before it is needed. If the manual says 12k miles, I will do it at 8k.

Thanks!
