Default Maintenance question

I have about 2800 miles on my bike.
Can anyone tell me at what miles should i bring it to be serviced.
I skipped the first one at 600? I decided to save the money and do it myself.

what will they do this time?

thanks in advance...

When you skipped the first one at 600 did you adjust the valves yourself? Or do thouse still need to be adjusted?

the 600 mile oil change is a rip off
they change the oil, inspect the chain for tension, make sure that there are no bolts coming loose etc
basically do it yourself go buy a filter and oil and have at it

by the time mine was ready for the 600 serice the oil had been changed twice already

its not due for another oil change until 8000 miles

(i go 3K regardless of what the book says)

keep the receipts of all maintenance so you can prove that the oil was changed and there is no damage to your warranty

well I did two oil changes already
one at 600 miles
the other at 2000 miles
I did adjusted the chain, but I didn't touch the valves (I was told by the dealer that the only thing they were going to do was check bolts, chain, oil.
I am now wondering about the valves tough...

Should I get the second service right now or wait a little longer?

you got it

the 16K is the real big one that you should go ahead and have them do since its where the valves get adjusted

i personally have never had a bike long enough to get there

i am on bike 4 now so hopefully i dont get bored with my 1kRR and trade it in like the rest

I intend to keep mines for as long as I can, providing I keep the ups trucks off my back (I crashed against one with my R6{tottatled}).
I like honda so much that if I have to change it it will be an cbr 1k 06.

The dicks at my Stealership told me they adjust the valves at 600. This is why I love this site. Thanks baxsom you just saved me a ton of money!!
