Default Maintenance on bike

what should the maintenance on a bike for the mileage for example 3,000 miles for an oil change and whats for a tune up, chain and sprockets change, ect.

consult the service manual.
its like check everything every 4000 miles and adjust every 8000 and replace every 16000

its all in the book man

Only thing I don't agree on is the oil change intervals.... they say to do it every 8k but I just can't bring myself to stretch it out that long. I do mine every 5k. Other stuff, like chain and sprockets, there is no set mileage interval, you just have to keep an eye on it and when it is fully stretched or starts to kink up in spots, it's time to replace it

Thanx thirdgen I dont have a manual so dont know whats maintenance to follow. how much is the work to do a valve clearance and what does it help in?
