Lowering a 2002 CBR F4i
Hello. I remember someone asking about lowering an F4i, but I can't find the post now. So, here is my input. I bought a lowering link for $120 (you can actually get it for $80 on eBay) and had it installed at a local shop for about $80. The bike was technically lowered 1" (although the link can be used to lower some bikes by 3" - I don't think you can lower the 2002 F4i more than 1"), which doesn't seem like much. However, whereas before, I was on the ball of one foot at traffic lights, now I can get a good part of both feet on the ground now. I'm 5'7" with a 30" inseam; that is, the bike will feel that it was lowered by a lot more than 1". I know some people were advising against lowering the bike, but I think it gives me much more confidence when stopping on hills; also it's much easier to move the bike under your own power. I would recommend it 100%. The bike's handling feels pretty much the same as well.

RE: Lowering a 2002 CBR F4i
Thanks for the feedback. I kept the old dogbone just in case I sell the bike. They only adjusted the back of the bike and then bent the kickstand a bit so the bike leans a bit more. The bike rides pretty good, so I'm not sure if anything else needs to be done. However, do you think I can still put a passenger on the back? Thanks!
