Can the Bootleg exhausts be used without a power commander? Any problems running lean, etc with the exhaust if used with a stock ECU?

Exhaust looks great by the way

 

i'm not using a PC3 with mine yet and the bike runs fine.

WHere can I find info as far as the "R&D" behind this exhaust? I realize alot of you guys are using it, but is it as quality as two bros or micron...etc...in terms of FUNCTION (not just sound)??

 

Received my LE Shorty Wednesday and installed today. Excellent quality and fits well. Beside the weight reduction, what weight there is, is lower and more centered. I took a few quick rides (note, my bike is otherwise stock, performance-wise). The bike pulls evenly from start to finish. No flat spots noted. The sound is not as loud as I thought it would be. The sound has a nice mid-range raspy tone without being harsh. Interestingly, I've noticed the tone has a distinctive change when under average acceleration, when pulling really hard, and when in deceleration (I guess any pipe will, but the difference is more noticeable with the LE Shorty). Overall, very happy, and this pipe does everything I had hoped. Cheers to Tom.

Just ordered mine from Bootleg's website. It's Friday night though, so it won't get shipped out till next week, which sucks! But...I look very forward to getting the pipe now that all you guys are so happy with it.

Bootleg...if/when you get logo decals done, can those of us who have bought the pipe already get a decal sent to us in case we want to put it on the exhaust????

 

as one of the "spokespersons" (**cough cough** ffingers) on behalf of bootleg, yes he will send us the decal when done. and also to answer your question about the R&D behind the pipe... i met up with bootleg @ his shop when he first launched the LE pipe. his pipes are manufactured by the same guys who make the yamaha pipes. there's also a thread somewhere stating this also...

have fun with the pipe when you get it... and let us know what YOU think about it when u put it on.
