From what I can tell from the pics it looks awesome!! Even better in person I bet. Are you glad you went with the 12 piece set? Or do you think you could get by with less

It thought I might as well get the 12 pc and if I didn't use it all oh well.
I used 10pcs and have 2 left that I might put under the tank once it painted
My buddy did his and had to keep going back and buying more and he spent over $150 because he kept buying them individually and I believe he had to solder every connection.
The ledglows are plug and play.

Looks nice! Gotta work on that night time photography Also make sure you understand your local laws when it comes to the blue color before you ride around with them on and run into a jerk police officer. Around here us sport bikes usually catch a lot of crap for blue lights, even though cruisers ride around with them all the time.

Plug and play kits like that can be nice, but you can also run into trying to deal with coiling up and hiding excess wires, some wires not being long enough to do what you want, etc. So there's pros and cons to both ways. And I do recommend that people keep in mind the warranty and customer support variable to purchasing these products. Those strips are notorious for having chunks of 3 LEDs go out in them. For most Ebay purchases, you're SOL when that happens.

I have a bunch of individual lights from Oznium on mine, tied into a two-switch set up for static and strobe modes. The whole set up probably would cost about $200 retail, so not exactly the cheapest set up, but it gets plenty of attention.

The plug and play kit did come with 5' of wire per light which I did have a BIG bundle at the end but it coiled up nicely at the bottom of the trunk/ under the seat.

Where'd you put the leds to light up the stator area? Was never satisfied with mine in that area so I pulled them till I'm ready.

Also there is a strip facing down where the ziptie is behind the VIN sticker.

Are you Worried about them being on for too long and draining the battery. Do they draw a lot of energy or not

I've left my lights running for 8-12 hours before and my bike started with no problem

Back when I had 6 strips

With my 2 way alarm and the RF transmitter for the LED controller, it takes about a week of not riding before my battery drains. All RF receiving devices constantly draw power.

As for the "blue color" legality question, PA's laws are murky. Blue dot illumination is specifically allowed for motorcycles. And I believe the law states no flashing blue. Worse come to worse I can just hand the cop the key fob and tell him "pick a color that doesn't offend ya" I usually ride in million color breathe mode or sound activated mode (so they flash as 1 unit based on my exhaust sound)

If I want the led's to only go on when turning the bike on, where do I wire them to?

Is there a way to have them run independently from everything? I want to avoid having to splice into another wire.

Sure, you can use a mini add-a-circuit like that, will give you a fresh power wire right from your fuse box (only downside is you can't close it).

Run the power wire to switch, and from the switch to your lights and you can use it anytime, bike on or off, key or no key.
