Yeah, and pay attention to the part where he talks about having all the time IN A TURN to slow down from 150, maneuver around the other guy, and run it back up to 150 AND THEN COMPLETE THE TURN.

I've never been to 150 on my bike. Not having had the opportunity yet to get to a track or drag strip, the best I could do was hunt down a remote, completely straight road that went at a slight decline for a while then a slight incline for a while, giving me complete visibility over about 2 miles, and with no traffic, intersecting roads for potential traffic, and no trees obstructing my vision, I was able to get it to 145 before running out of road. It took a LONG time to get there, and pressing the handlebars to get the bike to maneuver even enough to switch from one side of the lane to the other at that speedfelt like I was riding a 20-ton gyroscope. Knowing what I know now, that road has enough room to get me at least to 150, but I really have had no desire to repeat the experience. I learned what I could from it: rapid acceleration and deceleration as well as quick maneuvering are impossible at that speed.

And he couldn't tell if it was a literbike or a middlewight, but he could read USAF off the guy's tags?

This poster is full of it. I think he is compensating for something.

As for whatever kernal of truth is actually in the story, I applaud the serviceman on the literbike who was smart enough to slow down and not ride beyond his ability, even when his ego was attacked by a moron challenging him to a race at 150 mph on a public road. Poor guy is going to have to go back and tell his friends he got smoked by an F4i. But I think that's the secret to living to tell about it.

right dude, come to my neck of the woods and try that ****. my RR will stomp on your f4i in the straights and in the turns... all wearing my power ranger suit. you can wear your squid gear, you know, your weight savings will addd .00058 whp alone. lol..damn squids

full bolt-on mods (arata slip-on, gutted ram air intake, 2006 velocity stacks, bmc race filters, and about 30lbs of weight savings) and pushing 161.4 whp and 81.7 wtq, dyno tuned and mapped.

bring your *** to grattan sept 22 or 23rd. ill be there in an all blacked out 2004 cbr 1000rr. look for the black tape on the lights, my red power ranger suit, red/white lid, red/white gauntlet gloves, A* boots. ****, ill even run in the novice group for ya and keep it in 2nd gear thruought the whole track, except for the straights. ill have to kick it up a few gears. oh, and dont say i can turn cause i run a 55 series rear tire either. but it does help with turn-ins tho.

peace my squidly brother.

Well, it appears my words failed me. Turn was probably a bad choice of verbiage...it was a curve that, at that speed, became more of a turn. I'm not BSing.

I did have time to look at the speedo when I had to roll off because of his squiddlieness (I think he looked in his mirror and saw me rather than paying attention in front of him)

Yes, I should have been wearing protective equipment.

Yes, my speedo calibration could be off and it did take some distance to climb to 150 on the speedo. I must be a moron and not a mechanic because no one has ever paid me to work on my own bikes for that last 33 years.

I don't have a tinted windscreen, mine was painted red by a previous owner. I do have a sticker that adds power though. (A "Brown Power" sticker I got from a "Life in the Barrio" gumball machine at my fave burrito stop)

I'm not a troll, but I am kind of short. I'm a guy who was spoiled rotten in his life with motorcycles. My dad owned a Cagiva/Ducati dealership. I've actually spoken to members of the Castiglioni family on the phone.I've been riding since I was four (see my profile and check the photo, that's me on the tank of my Dad's Hodaka about to ride a 40 mile enduro) I've raced motocross, enduro, hare scrambles and desert races, and while I don't have that many years on the street, I think the fact that I have ridden such a varied terrain gives me some skills that many street riders don't have. I'm not bragging or anything, I'm actually a humble old man who is just as turned off by dumb *** kids doing stupid things on the street in shorts and tee-shirts. I've teased the stunters about it, but mostly because they do this crap in traffic...I was on an almost completely open (a car was in the far right lane, exiting) stretch of freeway.

Jeez, I just wanted to say that the F4i is a great little bike...sorry to ruffle feathers so much. Tomorrow I'm ordering a full set of road racing gear so when I ride over to my friend's to skate his ramp, I'll look like friggin' Nicky Hayden.

One day I hope to obey every law on the road because I know everyone in here bought that fast motorcycle so they could be model citizens. Doesn't everyone have their own private racetrack?

Oh and to Demon's challenge...I never had the money to compete in road racing. But if you ever find yourself in West Texas, I'd like to invite you to the local motocross track for a few friendly laps. I wouldn't start your apexes too early though, I'll use you for a berm.

Next time I do something dumb on the freeway, I'll be sure to bring the dyno so that I can back up the tale with the numbers you hardcore street guys get all creamy over.

i think your an old man, trying to relive some youth experiences of someone else. keep your f4i, and keep on dreaming. everyone can have dreams, its the ones that aspire to, and reach those dreams that are real.

keep on squidding man.
