Just installed the PCIII

Just installed the PCIII
I got a PCIII from a guy for $150, and honestly I was kind of concerned that it wouldn't work. The only reason I was concerned is that it had been on Craigs list for like 3 weeks, for $150 and nobody had grabbed it. I hooked it up, and it seems to work pretty well. The only issue I see is not with the PCIII, but more the design of the PCIII. It does not appear that you can load maps, or retrieve maps without the engine running. Im wondering if this will help my gas mileage at all. I am also wondering if anyone has a map out there for maximum gas mileage. But, long story short.. the install was pretty easy, and it works. I haven't taken it out for a spin yet, but it is in.

RE: Just installed the PCIII
I got it used, so it doesn't have any of the extras that came with it. Literally all I got was the unit itself. I ran a USB plug from it to under the front seat. That way if I need to do some modification, all I have to do is pull the USB cable out. I'm thinking I might try and rig a USB plug somewhere on the bike, not sure where though. I also have the hot bodies undertail kit, so I need to find a good place to put the PCIII. Right now it's just sitting in my trunk. I need to find a good place to attach it.

I layed mine across the top of the center tray, and put mall holes on sides of tray and attached it with zip ties. The tool pouch fits back by the tail light. I lost most of the room doin it that way , but I can still attach usb cable and don't have to worry about unit getting hot ( not that I noticed much heat from it anyway). I just didn't want it bouncing around in there.
