Irregular coolant temperature (up to 119°C)
Hello everybody, unfortunately I am having troubles with my Shimi (my bike ). The coolant temperature seems to be higher than past years. If usually the fan motor turned on at 106-107°C, now it turns on at 109/110/112/114/115°C.
Moreover the temperature reading is very strange and seems to be random, here is an example: (fan motor off) 106°C, 107°C, 108°C, 110°C, 106°C, 108°C, 109°C, 112°C, 115°C, 114°C (here the fan motor turns on), 117°C, 114°C, 113°C, 114°C (here the fan motor turns off), 112°C, 109°C.
I have done a lot of works but the problem is not solved:
I changed 2 times the coolant
I changed the ECT thermo sensor
I changed the fan motor sensor/switch
I cleaned the cooling system using bardahl fast flush
I changed the coolant another time
I removed the thermostat
A few days ago I used an infrared thermometer to read the temperature on the radiator (bike parked of course).
When the fan motor turns on the temperature near the fan motor sensor is 100/101°C (that's ok: the fan motor should turn on at 100+/-1°C) and the temperature where the hot coolant from engine enter the radiator is about 104/105°C (this also seems ok) but... the temperature reading on bike display was 112°C!!
When the fan is off the temperature difference between in/out radiator is 1°C.
Can you help me?
I discovered that my mechanic never changed the coolant (I am the owner of this bike since 2007)
