RE: I need step by step
Symptoms: Your rear tire feels vague or like it has a slight side to side wiggle, similar to a flat rear tire. You've check your air preasure and it's not low.
Solution: Increase rear spring preload. This will stiffen the back for a more solid feel and slow down rear form rising to quickly.
&
Symptoms: It's a sportbike but it feels more like a goldwing. Your suspension is soft and comfy, but feels bouncy. When you get into the twisties the bike has a floating feeling that makes road feedback vague at high speeds. The bike seems to bend in the middle.
Solution: Increase/ stiffen the rebound damping to dissipate the increased bump forces at higher speeds. Adjust the front and the rear independently, testing the changes as you go.
From the what I read I would say the above would best describe my problem. My brother has an 02 F4i (mine is a 01) and when I sit on my bike the bike lowers significantly more than my brothers.
rear spring preload and rebound damping look like the solutions, but I can't find anywhere that has step by step with pics that show how to adjust.

RE: I need step by step
Just start turning things with a flathead screw driver. That's what I did. hahaha Make sure you make very small adjustments 1/8 of a turn was way too much for me I thought my kidneys were going to die! This is probably not the correct way to do it but it worked for me. I used to feel like the rear tire was always sliding out so I stiffened up the rear suspension and haven't had the problem since. /shrug

Sportrider Suspension Guide
Set your static sag first, then set your damping.
Make little adjustments and see how you like them. Keep a record of what you do so you can go back if you really don't like something.
