Question I feel like I'm missing something....

I'm trying to get my lower cowling installed (when I bought the bike the plastics were not on it).

Where the lower cowl meets the upper cowl there are 3 holes on each piece.

All the diagrams I can find just show an alen bolt going through the two holes, but there's nothing behind the faring to mount it to.

Is there supposed to be some kind of clip on the fairings here? Or a nut on the other side that the allen bolt would screw into?

there should be a rubber compressor nut like on the backside windscreen.2005 Honda CBR600F4/F4I Parts, 2005 Honda CBR600F4/F4I OEM Parts - BikeBandit.com

you can find them here or at your local dealer

You can put them back in if they still fit like a grommet. If they don't want to stay, then they should be replaced.

You can find OEM ones from many different vendors online, or aftermarket ones from a place like BikeBolts.
