how warm does the computer run? post rectifier surgery
Hi Guys, I had a complete VRR failure with lights and tach going dead and sputtering. Also my *** almost caught fire!. We tested the VRR and it was dead-and it cooked the battery.. After replacing the VRR, the bike runs great and the gauges are fine but after doing 80mph for an hour I noticed some heat from under the seat. The rectifier was hot, but not excessively so. The battey was just warm but it seems like the ECU was pretty warm(like a laptop battery with all RAM running.
My question is since I am overly sensitive to heat under ***, is this computer heat normal? can hold it in my hands. The battery is just lukewarm, so its not overcharging or discharging.
Seems like engine heat is getting pushed into that compartment too because the shock and undercarriage is hot as well. I feel like sealing that part of the battery compartment off but vapor need to escape somewhere...
Or could the VRR failure cooked the ECU or one of the wires?
