HELP!! Replacing undertail??
I am replacing my fender on my 2001 F4i,, my question is this,,, If I cut the plastic back as I'm suppose to do, What holds the battery in place? It seems that its all one piece. This is my bike and this is the undertail I'm putting on it.

Nobody knows??? I tried to look this up in the search,, but no one explains how much of that undertail I should cut off inorder to put this new one on. Any idea??? please help me understand this,,,,, am I missing something?
you should only cut out the amount of plastic sticking out from the rear cowl, everything else stays there, and the undertail just slides under the rest of the plastic. maybe someone with an 01-03 could show you in a pic
You will only need to cut off the stock undertail that hangs down past the subframe, if that makes sence. your undertail will cover up the stock one, as you will need to retain it in order to hold the battery. Here is a link: http://www.58cycle.com/images/parts/...4i%202001-2003
the instructions for the F4i are about 3/4 down the page
