It is the battery. I need a new one. The current one is done(not holding a charge). I just hope the electrical wiring is ok after several attempts to start it up. I am going to ordered new battery that should get here by Wed. Thanks for the advice. Once I receive the battery I give a update on the situation.

Ugh I change the battery , and yet the same problem occurs!!!! The first few times it tries to kick over, than gets weaker, starts to make buzzing sound, after a couple more tries the digital gauge turns off only with the neutral light on. Clicking on the starter switch nows does nothing once again. Any ideas on the problem? ( fi light and other red light to the left of the neutral light was on when I first turned on the bike).

Had the same prob with mine after letting it sit for the winter. Had to replace all the spark plugs (apparently this is a common prob with the f4i) and then still took a little while to start. Once it did, I let it idle for a few minutes on its own, and then revved it up some. Stalled twice at higher rpm, but now seems to be running fine. Haven't taken it for a ride yet though. Too cold and rainy here in WI

Some simple things to consider first:
1. Its a new battery correct? If so, has it been FULLY charged? The clicking sound sounds like the starter relay which will usually happen if the battery is not putting out enough juice.
2. Could be a problem with the ground. Again, this will cause a similar problem by not allowing enough energy from the battery to get to the parts that need it most for the bike to start.
2b. Battery cables. Are they in good shape or do they look worn out? Are they tightly connected to the battery?
3. Start switch short or poor contact. If there is corrosion in the start button, it will cause problems starting.
4. Agree with the spark plugs and running rich.
5. Could possibly be a faulty sidestand (kickstand) switch making poor contact.
6. Are you twisting the throttle when you are trying to start it?? Not a good idea. Don't do it.
can you jump start the bike from a car battery? NOTE: the car should NOT be running if you try this.
Kickstand up? Clutch in? Hand/foot on the brake?
Old gas?? The CBR I just got had old gas in the tank and not only did it gum up my fuel pump but it made it very difficult to start and run. Water in the gas is not good and it accumulates with time especially if the bike was not stored properly and stored for a while. Drain the tank and add fresh NEW gas as well as a little "Seafoam" or other product that will absorb water. I like seafoam because it is a good cleaner too.
Hope that helps.
